The shore trip was wonderful. Our driver was so great to take us around to other spots first and waited for Cadillac mountain to clear from the fog, therefore giving us the perfect views. Others from the ship were disappointed but not us. He was great with information and our lunch stop was exceptional. Only wish we could have had more time to view the wonderful area.

 We'll drive along the 27 mile-long Park Loop Road up to the top of Cadillac Mountain, the highest peak on the eastern seaboard and the first place daylight hits each morning. From Cadillac you can see spectacular views of Bar Harbor and its surrounding islands. Our driver-guides create a unique narrated experience tailored to your time and interests. Ride in comfort in your own private van that stops when and where you want for as long as you want. See Bubble Pond and the glacial erratic Bubble Rock teetering on the edge of the cliff for over 50,000 years.

 Visit all of the famous sites, including Sand Beach, Otter Cliffs and Thunder Hole, and Jordan Pond House. Most of the park was donated by the Rockefeller family. As you wind through the park you see hand-cut stone bridges and other evidence of the family's elaborate 57 miles of auto-free carriage trails.

 Start off this wonderful tour by getting to know the historic district of Bar Harbor. We'll drive around Old Bar Harbor and then we're off to the top of Cadillac Mountain! Cadillac Mountain is 1530 feet high, which provides stunning 360 degree views of the island and even your ship in the harbor.
Next it's Sieur de Monts Springs to view the lovely nature center and gardens. You'll also see Bear Brook which is a large beaver pond with lots of lodges and dams, Precipice Cliffs with its 1000 foot open cliff range and peregrine falcons and Sand Beach's beautiful pink sand surrounded by rocky cliffs!
We're then off to Thunder Hole which is a naturally carved granite inlet that explodes as the water rushes in, Otter Cliffs and Jordan Pond.

We will then venture out of the park, traveling to the communities of Seal Harbor and Northeast Harbor, which are the summer colonies of the ultra-rich such as Rockefellers, Vanderbuilts, and the Astors.
See the amazing mansions and beautiful harbors. You will also see the famous Asticou and Thuya Gardens, hidden treasures the bus tours are not allowed to go to. View the mansions of Bar Harbor, Seal Harbor and Northeast Harbor.

We then travel down to Southwest Harbor to eat at an *authentic Lobster Pound for lunch!
Many restaurants will claim to be a pound where lobster boats bring their catch to be weighed, but really there are only a couple on the island that actually serve lobster. We'll go to one where the locals typically go. See the boats come in and out while you eat lobster either inside or outside on the pier.
We conclude the tour by taking you to the historic Bass Harbor Headlight and Acadia's natural rock seawall.
